Hi
I'm looking to change my gas/elec supplier. I'm currently with Scottish Power, and i went to https://www.uswitch.com to find out any good deals for my area (North East)....it came up with Atlantic Electric & Gas. I've never heard of them but they are the cheapest in the area....has anyone any experience of them before i make any decisions?
Thanx

I switched to them a few months ago but can't say i'm very impressed. They are cheap so long as you stay with them a full year to get your cash back. BUT their service is dodgy to say the least. firstly i had all sorts of confusion over which tariff i'd been signed up to (i think online is cheaper).
secondly they sent me a really low bill (estimate) just before the prices went up. this would have ended up costing me money - because they later would have charged me at the new high rate, for fuel i'd actually used at the old cheap rate. i was only alerted to this by a thread on this site, it looks like a trick they've tried on with a lot of people.
finally they have just sent me a new bill which is a massive overestimate!!!
so if you go with them, make sure you double check your bills carefully, is my advice."The Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed" - Ghandi0 -

Been with them for a few years, they are the cheapest around, not had any probs till i read the above
, they never sent me bill/paperwork to say prices went up
, otherwise i would have checked everything!. Is there anything i can do know? Thanks in advance!
No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
I think they're great too. Why don't you just put your readings on line every week - takes two minutes - and then you NEVER get any estimates? Works for me...0

what about EDF/London Energy Online?0

well i called them up, they gave me a rebate back based on the old prices, so am ok with that, other than that have been with them for years & am v.happy, customer services are coolNo one said it was gonna be easy!0

Been with them about three years - no problems.
Still the cheapest for me. Just compared with Utility Warehouse and they (Atlantic) are about £100 per year cheaper.
Also, I'm still underpaying on a direct debit and they don't seem to notice. I know one day I will have to pay a lump sum to catch up but until then... better in my pocket than theirs.0 -
Sounds okay then, generally, we're in the process of switching to them via uswitch. Will keep an eye on things.0
