ok so thanks to all you helpfull people on these boards i managed to get my train ticket to london for 1st july for just £8! :j off the virgin website. It was an advance ticket and i signed up to the advance ticket 'alert' as advised. im very pleased! so thank you all! :T:T:T:T:T


but i also need a ticket to come home (london-macclesfield on friday 3rd july), but the advance tickets dont seem to have come on for this journey-is this normal? will the fact that its a friday make it harder/different?

any advice much appreciated :money:

They probably aren't available yet. The seat reservations don't go on until twelve weeks before at the earliest.

Suggest you just keep checking regularly.
Friday is the busiest day but there should be some advanced tickets available.

is there a time period that the advance ones have to go on before the journey or can they leave it until the week before the journey etc?

It's supposed to be 12 weeks but it just doesn't happen.
