Is there a way you can find out road traffic accidents statistics

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum,

But I am looking to find out how many road trafic accidents there has been on the road I live on in the last five years, is this possible or will it come under the data protection act?

If this is possible how do I go or were do I go about getting this information,

I wouldn't imagine it comes unde the data protection act if figures are all your after.

Try your local Police Station, they would have details of all 'reportable accidents', whether they let you have the details is another thing. Freedom of info act may allow for this type of request

Call your local force HQ and ask to speak to the Collisions Statistics Unit. They will be able to assist. They will probably only give you figures rather than indepth details.

For example...Number of persosn killed or seriously injured on the B1234 for 2007/2008 was xx.

Remember though that they will only have details of collisions reported to Police and many go unreported if noone is injured.
