Kindly WEBCAM advice needed please.

Hello,

I m going round in circles(with severed head under wing naturally)trying to settle on a reasonable webcam set-up.
Spent much of morning speaking with F.Riend in other country and being thus talked through Skype, now installed.
Other person has Logitech Pro9000 and I have read reviews, done price comparisons etc. I also need speakers [slimline please]and, presumably, one of those headsets/microphone thingies.
I have a Clubcard plus with Mr T and would like to order by Monday to thereby gain quadruple points[double on tesco direct 'til Mon+dbl for CC+].
If another supplier is ouitrageously better than Mr T,I will migrate.

I'd like to keep the all-up spend below £60 - ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE?

ALL advice/hints will be welcomed.
Thankyou in advance.

If you get a headset, you don't need speakers as well-you hear the sound through the headset, or you can play it through your PC/laptop speakers. And many webcams will come with a built in mike.
So if all you want to do is make video calls via Skype, you just need a suitable webcam.

Thankyou macman - but skype will be for making phonecalls mostly and I have never been able to hear any sound from my 'put
ah.' Asked nerdy ? about this a few mths back.
I'm unlikely to download music. but may well want to watch missed prog. or two from tv without being anchored to sitting with headphones on.
Do I really need no speakers at all?

Do you have built in speakers-you didn't say if it's a laptop or PC? Laptop will have built in speakers, perfectly adequate for Skype, but not necessarily good enough for music/TV. PC will require plug in speakers-if you don't already have any, that might be why you have no sound...your original post was related to Skype only, not listening to TV.
If there is an internal sound problem then plugging in new speakers won't fix it.

    Thankyou again macman.
I am very glad Martin decrees there is no such thing as a stupid ? - most of mine in the techie realm are precisely this!
I assumed sound came with the computer, bought 26/12/2007, but apparently not - and no, I do not have any speakers.
Yes, this post is re: skype at large and I was thinking the other night, having missed the final part of Willie Harcourt Cooze's choc. adventures, that this play again thing would be useful.
Does it all not work together?

Sound comes built in to laptops but not necessarily to a PC, we don't know what sort of computer you have though.
If you are referring to the BBC iPlayer, yes you will need some speakers to listen to it, or a headset.
Does what not work altogether?-Skype has nothing to do with watching TV on your PC.
