Can I connect to a mates laptop now from my broadband connection?

My mate is here and I'm trying to connect to his laptop. I have a broadband connection and think I may need a router to do this?? But all I want to do is shut down my PC and try his laptop out, can this be done? His is Windows XP Home.
I've disconnected my Modem, connected it to the USB port and phone line, couldn't get online??

  • Hi
Yes it can be done, but first you have to put all your settings from your isp, ie. connection settings/username/password onto his laptop, then you should be able to connect via his laptop.

    Hope this helps
