Hi there, wonder if anyone can help? I used to be able to print preview a webpage and then print it. However I can't do that any more, I get 'an error has occured in the scripts on this page'. I have recently switched to Virgin PC guard but I'm sure I managed to print after switching, any ideas whats wrong? It mentions the following URL (res://ieframe.dll/preview.dlg) in the error message window.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

Close all your web browsers, and then go to Start and then Run, and type:
regsvr32 ole32.dll
(there's a space in there)
and then click OK and see if that helps.0 -
you could try this
Start internet explorer using Start->Run iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff
Right click on the toolbar area and tick Menu Bar if its disabled
optional - you may need to follow this last step
Tools->Options->Advanced->Security->Disable Phishing Filter
see if that works
You may need to update windows if you havent recentlyDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
Thanks to you both. Not sure which worked as I seemed to have problems with them both - error message with the ole.dll one and frozen screen with the iexploe one. However it does now work so I can print what ever I want now, many thanks.

As an aside, I'm on Vista and Run is hard to find and I don't seem to have a Phishing filter option!

you're right, it seems to be hidden away.

Just entering a command in the "Start Search" box at the bottom of the Start Menu in Vista has always worked for me - e.g. 'cmd' <Return> brings up a command prompt, 'iexplore.exe' <Return> fires up Internet Explorer, 'regedit' <Return> fires up the registry editor, etc.[Deleted User] wrote:...you're right, it seems to be hidden away.

Well its stopped working again and I'm now back to where I started in my OP! I'm going to try the suggestions again and see if it fixes it again but any other help greatly appreciated.BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500

Okay, fixed again - needed to start explorer via the run option for it to work (run iexplore.exe). Can anyone tell me how to fix it permanently or will I just have to do this each time it 'fails'?

Are you say it works from Run > 'iexplore.exe' or 'iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff'?Okay, fixed again - needed to start explorer via the run option for it to work (run iexplore.exe). Can anyone tell me how to fix it permanently or will I just have to do this each time it 'fails'?
If it works from the run option (specifically iexplore.exe -extoff) then its likely your problem lies in one of your IE add-ons.
Its a process of elimination from there. Start IE with no add-ons (run > iexplore.exe -extoff) then in IE go to Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons. Then enable them one at a time and try to print after each one until the problem re-occurs.
However Run > iexplore.exe on its own is just the normal IE start up, the same as clicking on the IE icon.0 -
Bluboy, thats what I thought so I'm not sure why it made a difference! I did just type iexplore.exe rather than click on the icon in my toolbar so it shouldn't have corrected the fault. Oh well, perhaps my laptops got Gremlins!
