How to transfer money from e-savings account

Hi,

all i ve had an e-savings account with first direct for 2-3 years and now which to close/transfer all money out of the account.

I cannot seem to see how i can tranfer money from this account to an account to the halifax. When i try to make a new payment it says I cannot do this with the account I have.

Whats the easiest way to close and transfer the money to a halifax account?

Can i go into a HSBC branch and close it there?

You need to transfer the money from your e-savings account to your FD current account, then you can transfer the money to any other bank account you want to. Your FD e-savings account is linked only to your FD current account.

Theres the rub I dont have a current account just the e-savings one lol.

And im not signing up for the 10 quid a month fee one just for the pleasure of closing my account lol.

I will ring them up tuesday to talk about closing and transferring all funds to a halifax bank a.c

Oh, I thought you had to have a FD current account first before you could apply for a FD e-savings a/c..? How do pay money into your savings a/c?

i opened it a long time ago (prob 2-3 years ago). Only got the savings account.

I pay it in using online transfer to acc sortcode/number.
