invites - when??

Hi all

We're getting married on 7th November and I'm just wondering when to send invites out?

Everything is booked and done, so I could theoretically send them out right away, but when is it normal to send them out??

Thanks :)

6 weeks is the normal time for sending invitations. Mine went out the end of December for a Valentine's Day wedding.

I think it depends how local your guests are. We sent ours out 6 months before but 75% of our guests are travelling from abroad. It didn't raise any eyebrows, even among the UK guests.
  • I sent mine out last month and i'm not getting married till September. I'm getting married in Cyprus though so thought it was best to give people plenty of notice for the date! I would say normally between 6 weeks and 3 months, but its your choice!

We'll be sending ours just under 3 months before, but we've ordered save the date cards too, so they'll go out about 10 months before (end of this month, early May lol)
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

6 weeks is traditional, but I have to confirm numbers to my venue 4-6 weeks before the wedding, so that would never have given me enough time

I sent mine out in Jan for my May wedding, with RSVP date for the beginning of March.
