"Subject to availability" is also a bit of a marketing ploy - to encourage people to put money in "now" rather than think about it for a couple of months.
"Other savings accounts" are also "subject to availability" because they can be withdrawn if the provider wants to do so.0 -
I thought bonds and fixed rate/term savings accounts are different things.
The term "bond" is one of the most misused phrases in financial services. The marketing people at banks and building societies have, in recent times, renamed fixed term deposits as bonds. It seems that anything with the term "bond" in it sounds good for the consumer.
So, when people start referring to bonds it can get confusing as it can be corporate bonds or investment bonds (also a misname but that goes back a lot further in time) or the other types of bonds out there.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
