Is There a better way to invest 9.7K than an ISA?

Options
I have two Bradford & Bingley ISA Capital Savers [ex TOISA's] maturing with a combined balance of £9756 [lousy rate 0.45% !!!!] I dont need access to this money, other than in an emergency. I am considering transfering this into Natwests e-Isa at 3.51% but are there any better ways of investing this longer term?

I also have just over £3000 in NS&I ISA now paying a lousy rate but I need easy access to this money.

Any suggestions please?

Why not transfer all of your Cash ISAs? Natwest's e-ISA appears to offer easy access with no penalties, just as the NS&I one does.

In The Times recently I have noticed that One Yr Bond Rates are creeping up a bit. I have just done a two yr bond with Principality BS @ 4% but for instant access you need to look at ING or similar where a bonus is included for 12 months giving a rate close to 3%. All the choices are at the start of this section.
  • do you have a mortgage ? maybe overpaying is an option.
Mortgage Start jun 2007 £88500 Outstanding Balance £51000
    Overpayments 2007 Nil 2008 £1040 2009 £7853 2010 £10000 2011 aiming for £18000 (6k so far)
