Argos have an Hp External DVD-RW Lightscribe for 68.00 and you get a 5.00 or 10.00 gift card if you spend +50.00 or +100.00 by Tue 14th

Tekheads will sell you one for as little as £33.0

PC World (and possibly Currys as well) have a couple of LG externals - £35 with or without lightscribe. Does your laptop have USB2 - USB1 externals can be a bit hit and miss (as well as a lot sower).0

If you are sure you don't have a burner in the laptop, do you have one in any other pc?0

Not necessarily - it merely means that whatever you plug into them will be limited to data transfer speeds of 12 Mbit/s or less. You can still burn discs - it'll just take longer.Does that mean that the above suggestions will not work?
If this limitation is not to your liking, or you find that some USB 2.0 devices just plain won't work, you can add some USB 2.0 ports using your notebook's PCMCIA slot:
