Free one year £5,000 accidental death cover

accidental death plans have really tiny claims stats. Thats why they are given away free so often. £5k as a sum insured (not assured as its not pure life assurance) is not worth it so some insurance company can get your personal details and market you and sell your details on in my opinion.
That may well be the case but i guess it's free and there's a chance someone on MSE will benefit so there's little harm in going for it apart from the possibility of details being used for marketing purposes.0 -
The Website was very slow but after a few Clicks it worked0

Actually the chance of someone on MSE benefiting is quite smal since they would be dead .:rotfl:
Apologies for the poor taste but sometimes you gotta laugh right!?0 -

I left "I agree to Avon Insurance plc sending me electronic marketing communications" unticked, and read their Data Protection Notice in the t&cs, and from that I don't see that they have any right to send me marketing, let alone sell my details. So I've happily signed up. :T0 -

I agree. I guess they can send something by post as it did only say "electronic", but hey it's free so I don't mind recycling a few letters to get the insurance. A potentially (if tragic!) lucrative freebie - top thanks to the OP.0

I drive alot and always worried about this sort of thing - hopefully not jinxed now, but if I am, you'll probably never find out, because I won't be able to write a post!
Actually, thinking about it, no one will really be able to tell us if it's any good?0
