I live in a Mews - it's a converted bakery, there's 8 houses. Made from reclaimed bricks so that the original walls have been used.....hmmmm! not sure what I'm trying to say really. lol.

That looks nice QTPie, haha I'll let you off- they can be described as mews ;). Just annoys me at work when there's a 2 bed shoebox that the developer insists is a "modern mews house". It's not. It actually embarrasses me to hand details out for these. Not that I can say anything though!

    It was lovely :)

I think that some developers should really be disgusted in what they are developing these days... I have seen some ridiculously small shoe boxes that aren't big enough for a cat to live in (but being sold as two bedroom houses): sad thing is that people actually buy them...

You're right there QT...its all down to how much money they can make in such a small space of land.....nothing to do with standard of living for human beings

Agreed! There's a huge estate of them near me, I honestly don't know why anyone would buy them. Unfortunately I'm paid to sell them!

Depends on the developer really, they try to go more with buyer incentives round here, like carpets or legal fees paid. Normally people knock 30% off for their first offer, I would say that most get agreed around 20% under asking price but it does vary!

I've always thought it was converted stables, mostly in London. There would have been a big house, with servants and horses/stables out the back.

Over the years the big house was split up and the stables converted to houses... so I wiki'd it:

I thought that they should have a garage on the ground floor - like the carriage houses below living quarters in the "proper" mews.

Does anyone know what quasi- semi detached or quasi detached means?
I've seen it on a few recently.

Quasi semi is where it is the end house in a row of 3 or more. Quasi detached-not seen this one but I would assume it is like a link detached, where the houses are linked by a garage.
