    start menu

    run...

    type cmd then press enter

in the black box that comes up type ping moneysavingexpert.com

once it's finished type ping 213.129.82.45

paste the output from both of those here.

I'm assuming msn works, it's just web pages that don't?

excellent, so it's not broken DNS, since the domain name resolves. The net connection's also obviously working.

That makes me think it's a problem specific to your web browser, like the proxy settings having changed. I'm not familiar with IE at all, so I've no idea where the settings are, but you could grab firefox from this link and see if the web works with it. I'm sure someone will be along soon enough to help you with the IE-specific problem. Ideally you'd ditch IE completely and use the much better firefox browser though. ;)

To attempt to fix the problem ~

    Run LSPFIX

    then ~
    Download HostsXpert
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Security-Related/Hoster.shtml
and then follow the below steps.

    * Unzip HostsXpert.zip
    * It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
    * Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
    * click the Make Writeable? button.
    * click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
    * Click the X to exit the program

But I doubt msn was the problem. You probably tried to install on an infected computer
You dont say WHICH malware program youve run but if its malwarebytes then please goto LOGS and post the last WHOLE log
    If not then ~
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
    UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
