Washing machine Indesit

My first ever washing machine was an Indesit. My MIL had it for three years, then we had it for eight after that so it lasted us 11 years.
As it lasted so long I decided to get another Indesit. Big mistake - lasted 16 months.
I swore not to get another one, so got a hot point which only lasted for 14 months. I later found out something like Indesit had bought the hotpoint name so it was essentially an Indesit machine (I may be wrong, and may have been told wrong).
I then bought a 2nd hand Zanussi which I have now had for 15 months so far however I keep getting an E90 error message flashing up, so I have to keep my finger on the button to make it go away so it means I can't start a wash, go out, then come back and expect it to be done as this error message is hit and miss.
Next time when this one conks out I think I am going to hire one. They don't make washing machines to last these days.Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
When my last one broke the washing machine man said not to get Indesit as they usually last about a year or just over.
I was recommended a Bosch. It is fab and comes with a 2 year guarantee. It cost just over £200. Think it was about £240 from kitchenscience.co.uk0 -
If any of you have a Nationwide credit card then don't forget you get one extra year free warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty...0

hotpoint, indesit and ariston are all the same thing, and all just as bad as each other. built cheaply with poor access to things such as filters, which is a deliberate move by their owners, merloni, to charge £92 per call out to unblock. I work for one of the large retailers, currys, comet, indesit are known inthe trade as indesHit, avoid them like the plague. sur eyou get lucky with some, but on the whole all indesit/hotpoint are very poor build quality. the indesit moon models are regarded as some of the worst machines in the trade. i do not know of anybody who has a wide experience of electricals who would even consider buying a hotpoint/ariston/indesit. hope tohelp0

Just bought an Indesit ......
Do you recon its worth shelling out for an additional 2 year warranty ?
Cheers0 -
We've an idesit washer dryer, washer dryers tend to have a bad reputation, as does insdesit, but 4 years later, its still going fine. Run twice a day, sometimes 4 or 5 times a day. Nearly always overloaded aswell.
Cost about £220 iirc.
So thats about 5p per use so far.
I tell a lie, the plastic start button fell out of the panel. I just pushed it back in.0 -
