Micro fibre cloths

I got 2 micro fibre cloths from Home Bargains, for wiping away dust from my Dell 2001FP TFT monitor.
I just tried both and none seemed to cause any problems, but can they cause damage? Or am I just being too cautious
Also which is the better one for TFT cleaning (The 'normal' micro fibre cloth has a flannel type texture while the glass one has a 'smooth' texture, like a football shirt material type)
