I recommend flickr, it's awesome and it's free for a certain number of photos per month. I have a premium account and use it to store -every- photo I take. Membership is pretty cheap and you can upload infinite amounts of photos! www.flickr.com
They have a tool called the flickr uploadr which lets you upload an entire folder in just a few clips, and you can annotate/tag/etc. themz0 -

But probably no good for someone who has 500 pictures and wants to upload them all at once - a free account has a 100mb per month upload limit.0 -
? snapfish?
Is it the upload limit or can you make another album to upload into?0 -
Read the OP. They need less than 1GB if their photos are on a CD.
I know full well you frequently post to try and look smug without offering any help at all.
They want to upload more than the photos on the CD though.
Photoshop Express offers 2 GB free.
And I'm not sure there was any call for your second comment, but whatever.0 -
Have been using Google's Picasa pretty much since they bought it. Found it one of the most simple to use apps for managing pics & have found it an absolute doddle to upload pics to the web Albums.
They do resize uploaded pics (down to a max of ... ummm 1600x1200 I think) which will reduce the space taken, hence 250 pics will probably only take 250-500MB of space. I have about 5 years of pics up there & only use a quarter of my space allocation.0 -
Picasa and Flickr are by far the best.
They also present the photos really nicely0 -
Another vote for flickr from me.0
