Car buying advice...
I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this, but here we go:
I'm about to buy a Jaguar X-TYPE SE 2.0 V6 (on a 53 reg.). The car has some 165K worth of mileage on it but overall looks to be in a good shape (no body damage, cracks, etc, not too sure about the engine but it doesn't seem to rattle and stuff).
My question is, is it worth buying a Jag with that sort of mileage on it?
I've mostly owned sport Jap cars and don't know much about whether cars like the Jag are any decent once they have reached that kind of mileage.
Any help is greatly appreciated...

For me it would have to be giveaway cheap to even consider it. Heres a low miles (but granted older) 2.5 v6 for less than £2.5K.

My dad has just bought an 03 2.0 v6 sport with 87K miles, with a full years MOT. Very nice car, but theres a bit of a rattle from the rear suspension that needs some joint at £150, and the tensioner is rattling on the power steering pump which isnt going to be cheap to fix.
There are lots of jag forums around - try www.pistonheads.com/gassing as theres a jag forum on there. They'll also know the best other jag forums.0 -
Make sure the steering doesn't feel heavy as they suffer steering rack problems. 2.0 V6 isn't the most exciting thing to drive. I'd aim for the 3.0 or An Audi A4 perhaps...0
