Gardeners World

Is it just me, or do others not like the new presenters on the programme?
I just don’t find them as comfortable as Geoff Hamilton, or Monty Don.

May be I’m just being silly, but I would have preferred Carol Kline who oozes genuine enthusiasm and knowledge. Gardeners World for me just isn’t as friendly as it was, and it makes me want to turn it off:o

I found it a bit Blue Peter, so went back outside again & started refilling my raised bed that seems to have sunk.

I gave up when they were faffing about with grow bags & it all seemd a bit patronising as if they were talking to 6 year olds.........Or is it just me?

They are catering only to one crowd - new gardeners.

The old gardeners world use to try and cater to people with a mixture of experience.

May be it the brief they have got to make their program more sellable.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Alys talks sense, and she's not such a fright to look at as Carol.

I quite like Toby, although the program sends me to sleep.

I like the Scottish one, beechgrove or something, although that still treats you like an idiot, at least it has interesting stuff on it. I sat through the whole GW from last week earlier today on Iplayer, so I didn't miss it before the new one came on and around 2 minutes was interesting to me.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

Exactly:o I'm not an expert but I found them childish. I really hated it when they introduced politics into the "Hot or Not" section at the end. I disliked it so much that I felt I hadn't learnt anything at the end of it.

I don't think Carol is a fright. I find her friendly and accessible. Have you seen her veg growing programme on cable? Its superb and really makes you want to grow veggies.

I think Carol's fantastic & looks healthy & toned - at least she knows what she's doing & is fervant organic gardener too.

I think the BBC are making a huge mistake in thinking younger presenters will sell the programme. If you go to any allotment you find both the young and middle aged in awe of the older allotmenteers with their friendly tales and advice.
