handbrake adjustment and brake shoe change

does anyone know of anywhere in the northwest, blackburn/bolton area that will be able to adjust my handbrake and fit new brakeshoes cheaply.

I have the brake shoes but need someone to fit them.

You could ask at a local garage, probably best to go to an independent one to get a quote. Ask friends/family or neighbours where they go to get jobs done on their car.

How about having a go yourself it's not a big job. Once you've got the back hubs off reassemble the new shoes in reverse order of how the old ones came off. A Haynes manual will help.

Unless you have the confidence to actually go and do it, it's best left to somebody more able to do it. Otherwise whilst driving and the brakes fail or don't operate properly then you could be held responsible (if say you were involved in an accident). I'm just saying that if you got somebody who knows what they are doing, i.e a mechanic then the liability will be with them.
