sky and t-mobile cancellation rip-off

I'm really annoyed at how these companies treat people who want to cancel thier service- with Sky they cut your service within two hours but because your "bill" is prepared they'll still charge you for nearly a months worth of time. T-mobile on the other hand meed 30 days and they'll still bill you even though your not using their service. I have even more agrivation with T-Mobile as I called last month to cancel and the person I spoke to didn't fill in the internal T-Mobile stuff correctly so I've been billed again...

It seems virtually impossible to get a decent cancellation service... when I ask for something to stop I expect it to stop and stop paying from that moment and not to have to pay a for nearly a month after I've cancelled it

It seems to me you always get stiffed with that "final" bill, how has Britain developed this culture? I've had T-mobile for two years you'd think they'd be satisfied with the amount of cash they've had off me same with Sky for five years, but no its always that final insult to a mediocre service

when I've reduced the packages we can get, we've had a refund of the difference in the next nmonth's subscription.

Have done this twice now and got the right refund each time.

I had a problem with Sky a couple of years ago, we phoned to tell them to disconnect us as we were moving to NTL. Got the usual nonsense about NTL being more expensive and that the service was terrible. We were told we needed to give 30 days notice so we said ok disconnect us 30 days from today but as we're already paid up for the next 2/3 weeks then downgrade our package to the minimum and the difference in cost would only be a couple of pounds. We were then told that you cannot downgrade and cancel in the same month.

Have you ever heard such nonesense? So we were to pay for a service we didn't want because we'd decided to cancel.

Never paid the bill for £19.50 when it came in and it eventually got passed on to a solicitor. I wrote to the solicitor and asked if I had phoned to downgrade and then asked to cancel would I be told I couldn't cancel?

Got a reply saying, leave it to us and if you don't hear anything else just take it as sorted. Never heard anything again but rejoined Sky last year and when my first bill came in it had an unpaid balance of £19.50, we phoned them and was told just to ignore it and pay the normal monthly subscription and I've never heard any more about it.

Like you said when you tell them you no longer want the service you'r paying for you shouldn't have to pay them for another month. They make enough money without these stupid rules.
