i have already bought the house now but my 1st valuation was around 40 grand but because was going through a tuff time lost the valuation papers it was coming to the end of 12 month period so had to reapply for valuation. It went up by 20 grand is this possible, can they do this? is there any way i can appeal and get any discount even though it is 3 years ago. I know i should of done this before now but was going through a tuff time and didn't really think about it until now.

I think you'll find it's too late to do anything, there is a very short time limit to appeal against RTB valuation (a few weeks). Council don't revalue themselves, it is Valuation Office Agency who would carry out second valuation.
The other point is you have agreed to valuation and bought house, you can't turn round 3 years later and say "I think I paid too much and want some money back".If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
ok thanks for your help.0
