My Fujipix A920 which has had little use was showing low battery icon and only taking one photo before going dead. I tried recharging batteries, no joy, just the same - so I ve just bought some new ones, NIMH 2700 and I have put in them back in the right way
but the low power icon shows immediately and when I take a couple of photos its dead again.
Any advice please?

Are you certain your recharger is working properly? Do newly charged batteries last as long as you'd expect when used in other things?Stompa0

Yes, but what I was suggesting was that there could be something wrong with the charger itself rather than the batteries. It may well be something else, but that's the first thing I'd check.Stompa0 -
Only thing I can think of is if the battery terminals in the camera have corroded (only likely if you've left batteries in for long time without using it).0

I have a fujifilm A900 and it eats batteries like a fish drinks water! its quite amazing! so if you are at all unsure that your batteries are not charged or are old (rechargables charge up that little bit less each time you recharge them) then they stand no match for a Fujifilm!
My Duracell MP3 batteries don't last more thn 20 minute of camera use or 1 hour of it just sitting there idol.0 -
Hi, thanks for the answers. What a numpty, I went down and put the brand new batteries in the Fuji charger. Put them in the camera this morning and erm, its working. It just didnt occur to me that brand new batteries would need charging0
