Duplicating user accounts

Hi all
We all have user accounts on this computer (although everyone seems to use mine!!) and I'd like to duplicate mine for my grandson ... basically so he can click on his own name when he goes on here.
Can anyone recommend the best way to duplicate this so he gets all the same icons, etc but his own name to click on the log-in screen?
I will be making his a user account not admin so he can't get into any problems.

Can't you just create a new account and put whatever shortcuts you want on the desktop yourself?
It'll be a lot faster and easier than copying a whole user account.0 -
I suppose I could, but he likes my wallpaper and everything else. That's all I want, not everything in My Documents as well.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Well then put the same wallpaper on his account too.
You don't need to copy the user account to do that.0 -
Here is a quick and easy link to a MS article which should help you: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151
Don't be put off by the title of "copying a corrupted account". It's the same process as copying an old account to a new account.0 -

It makes no sense to follow the directions you linked to just to have another account with the same wallpaper.
It could take hours to copy, and it'll eat up a huge chunk of HDD space. User accounts can be many GBs in size.0 -
Agreed, if it is big could take a while, but if the user wants true "duplication" that is the way. If its small, it would take no time at all.
All about giving the user a choice.0 -
Thanks for the link. I can also use it to hopefully sort my other half's account at the same time.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
