promoting a travel website

Options
Dear all,
I am one of the new members of this forum though i have been reading it for a while .After a lot of deliberation i finally decided to set up a travel website -to promote tourism to the Indian subcontinent -Nepal,India,Tibet,Srilanka,Bhutan ,with my friends.
2 months of hard work has finally paid off and the website is now finally almost ready ;however - i m not sure how to promote the website .I have gone thro the forums but cant figure out anything specific for travel business as such.
Could you all kindly advise me on how to promote the website with a limited amount of money.
Thaks in advance

Well done it looks like a great site.

I've got a similar site about Vietnam and the way I promoted it was by going on similar sites to mine and all other sites featuring Vietnam and emailling the site owner asking for a link exchange. He/she then put a link to my site on his in exchange for me putting a link to his on mine.

Then I found quite a few message boards with travel discussions etc which I joined and put a post on about my site.

    ADVERTISING

This site is free from advertising. Posts on any board considered to be advertising goods, services and/or companies will be removed.

Examples of this can include anything from a specific sales post or a link to your own website in which you attempt to sell something to someone offering their holiday home to forum members. Unfortunately we cannot allow any advertising of any description no matter how honourable the intention.

This includes the Referrals Board (see below).

If you think you have a genuinely good deal please contact a Board Guide for the board you’d like to post it on. If they agree with you they’ll contact the MSE Team and it will be considered. Any final decision will be that of the MSE Team. Please do not question the response with the Board Guide.
