I haven't bidded yet (2 days left!) cos I still feel too guilty!

However I had been worried it would look too cheap but I saw 2 dresses (not like mine) but by the same maker in a charity shop at the weekend and they didn't look any different quality to the evening dresses in debenhams (plus the charity shop was selling them for £50 each!).

We bought my daughters dress from ebay. It has been hanging on the side of my wardrobe now for eight months, she STILL hasn't booked the date!
She was going to get married this year, now it's next year (I thinkl!)
My partner said the other day "Is she ever going to wear that dress?!"
Maybe I'll threaten to put it back on ebay if she doesn't hurry up! LOL!

I would definitely go for it :) How much would you regret it if you didn't? For a bargain like that, I think it's worth the risk.

I bought my dress at the beginning of last month and our big day is June 2010!
  • I'd be a bit cautious of buying a dress early, especially if you think you may change shape before the wedding.

I ordered mine in Sept 2008 and since then have lost 2 stone and when I have gone today, it needs taking in by 5 inches, and if it needs taking in much more, it could ruin the shape of the dress. I also bought my bridesmaid dresses around the same time, and my sister is now pregnant and i've had to send hers back and try and find an alternative... The longer you have the dress, the more scope there is for something to go wrong!!

    How frustrating!

My OH just caught me looking at this forum when I was looking at someone's mood board and asked if I was doing a monica and creating a wedding folder before the engagement.

I said no I was keeping it all in my head. He said what had i chosen and I said my dress but that I was gutted and someone had been selling it for less than £20 on ebay.

He said he wouldn't have minded if I got it because it was a bargain! (N.B. still no proposal!!!)

The auction has ended and at the moment the cheapest is £50! I'm not willing to take a punt at £50 in case I spontaneously put on 2 stone but am going to see if it comes up cheap again (the same seller has the same dress for £20 in other sizes and colours).

    Grrrrr!

    soooo frustrated!
  • I think the dress is lovely - I would buy it - even if you put on two stone you could EASY loose it by next August!

My dress is one there too - but its a shop and im hoping that one comes up cheaper as its nearly £300 - if it was fifty I would get it, just dont have the cash yet!
