A friend of mine wants to purchase a TomTom but when I looked at the weekend there is so many different ones to choose from. Can anyone explain the differences in them to me or is there anywhere I can find out what the differences are? Is there any that you would highly recommend and is there any that you reckon shouldn't be purchased?

here are some reviews. Take a look at the Tom Tom One in particular. More compact than the "go" models and has the new SiRFStar III chipset.0 -
As Lorian has said, it's well worth doing some reading over at https://www.pocketgpsworld.com. They have reviews of almost all of the GPS systems available today, with forums for questions if you're still confused.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0

did i read a post that there are some new tomtom models due out soon .
Really impressed with our tom tom one .. until yesterday when somebody crowbarred the door then smashed side window to break in to our car .. to pinch the tom tom hidden under the drivers seat .Left the holder , also under the seat. !!.
Ironically the only safeguard my son didn't take was "wipe the sucker mark off the windscreen" .. police say reason for break-in was .......... !!!.
Only thing about the tomtom one i gather was that it doesn't have full detail on european roads and I need this later this year .
so need to think carefully about replacement... and get best deal of course !0 -

edna ... thanks ., already got those from this site... what they don't of course show is cashback deals .
quidco have 10% cashback from carphone warehouse which in a number of cases make them the cheapest net net.0 -
TomTom are bringing out new models next month, so expect some heavy discounting on the current models.(".)0
