Change secondary school appeal help

Hi all,
Help and advice needed, my daughter has been at her present secondary school for 7 months and my wife and i are very unhappy with the teaching/discipline also the group she has "gotten in with".
We have applied for her to change schools to the one her brothers went to which worked for them and us. She would have been able to get into the school because her brother was still there but he has since left, so now we have to go in front of an appeals panel.
I was wondering what would be the best way to approach this ie take a solicitor, teacher friend, or on my own, and what would i have to say that would convince the panel that i was deadly serious.
Many thanks in anticipation

Have a look at Help with Secondary School Appeal, which started off on this board but has been moved to Discussion Time. Although that's for a Year 7 appeal, I'd say the same principles would apply.
One thing it's worth finding out though is whether there are any spaces. We'd moved here and had to go to appeal to get eldest into year 8. At the appeal part of the school's argument was that X children had been admitted at the start of Year 7, which was so many over their 'quota', but that 2 children had left during the course of the year. I knew there were only 2 of us at the appeal but cheekily suggested that if they'd had 2 out, they could make room for both of us, which they did, although I'm sure not just because I suggested it!
I suppose you might strengthen your case by explaining why you didn't try to send your daughter there in the first place, but just rubbishing the school she's currently at won't be enough.Signature removed for peace of mind0
