Great - there's £100 gone! £200 for gas and electric in last 3 months. I only pay for what I use rather than by Direct Debit so hate getting the bill.
Roll on the summer - last summer my gas bill was £8, much better than the £106 I've got now!

Do I want branston pickles ????
Are they a nice sensation or do they actually hurt ???

I call them Toni Taylor (toni braxton & taylor hicks) :rotfl:

They don't hurt as such but they do make you go 'oooooh' and take your breath away.

Mine don't hurt but they are uncomfortable... Feel a lot more like actual contractions than the ones I had with Aimee... My whole bump goes hard and then it feels like it's pushing down...

Glam, I had a job for about 5mins in an easter egg packing factory in Telford, they occasionally got a cadbury contract... Maybe one of your eggs was made somewhere that's not cadbury's... Funnily enough, Aimee asked if we could go to the chocolate making factory again... We took her last year using Tesco vouchers (and told them she was under 3) so it cost us about a fiver all in... Wouldn't mind doing it again!:D

  • Evening all, just off for a bath and then gonna come back for a read and catch up but... thought I'd get this out of the way first:

Well, as promised - here's my ECV (External Cephalic Version) update - hope it's not too long and boring!

In complete honesty, it was a total breeze and also successful (yay!) despite little dink being nearly 38 weeks with her bum lodged firmly in my pelvis. Actual procedure lasted about 5 minutes and involved more 'jiggling' than pushing or pumelling. My consultant seemed to rely more on the baby to do the work encouraging her to do little kicks which would propel her whilst he guided her into position rather than forceably manouvering her himself.

When I first turned up, they put baby on a CTG monitor for 15 minutes or so to get some baseline readings. They also took my temp, blood pressure and is it oxygen saturation? (the clip on your fingertip with the red light). Once they were happy with all that - they did a quick scan so that the consultant could judge where her bum and head were and also check that there was sufficient amniotic fluid.

Then I had to sign a consent form to state that... a). I understood the procedure and that the risks had been explained to me. b). I consented to an EMCS if things were to go wrong and c). That nothing further would be done without my permission.

It was uncomfortable, but at no point did I feel like it was hurting enough to hurt the baby or really cause any pain penetration deeper than the surface tissue if that makes sense? Any 'proper' pain was purely pressure caused by the consultant's thumb or finger digging into my ribs or a soft bit rather than any pain over my uterus. I winced and it caught my breath about 3-4 times at the absolute most. The closest I can come to describing it is saying that it's a bit like pressing on a bruise - painful, but totally within reasonable pain thresholds. Oh, and whilst he was 'turning' her, the midwife kept checking with the CTG pad that she was tolerating it all happily and they consulted the ultrasound scanner once or twice so that he could double check her position.

After the procedure baby was monitored on the CTG for about 35-40 minutes to make sure that she was happy with her now 'upside down' world and I was sent on my way!

I will say that my consultant does have a good reputation locally for performing successful ECVs, so I may have had a lucky experience. If I was in the same situation again, I wouldn't hesitate to have another ECV.

I've also been told that when I go into labour and phone the labour ward, I need to let them know I've had an ECV just so that they can admit me a little earlier to do a quick scan before letting me progress through natural labour relatively uninterrupted!

Anyway, from one complete wussy wimp I hope that offers some insight into what you might expect.

That's brilliant sugar, glad it worked and glad it wasn't painful!

Yum Cadburys chocolate is the best - remember we had this debate before!!

Thou my Creme Egg Easter Egg was differnt to my Mini Eggs and they are both Cadbury

I actually dont like creme eggs :( I had one when i used to work in the co-op, it had a little tear on the wrapper so it had to be thrown away. I rescued it and ate it, and it was horrible :( Never ate one since lol.

And cadburys chocolate is the best :D I used to eat the whole nut ones but OH has a nut allergy so i cant eat nuts when im with him, if i kiss him i could kill him :( and now definatly cant cause of baby lol.

Glad it was a success Sugarsister!

I'm wondering if these are pickles, can feel them along the bottom of my bump but not so much at the top? Or maybe it's just cos I've still got the diadiddly.

Chemistry is making my head want to go boom :(
