AVG Virus Vault

I am not very 'techie' and would appreciate kindly words of advice,,

I have AVG 8.5..(i know its not considered the best etc etc...)..anyway ive had no real problems..

My question is:..The pc does a scheduled scan every day and i have just been checking the 'Virus Vault' to see what may have been found....

All the infection types found, except one, are listed as 'Warnings' and the virus name is listed as 'tracking cookies' on all of them.....This leaves the one which is listed as 'Infection' and the virus name is Win32/Heur.

1. Is it normal to have these 'tracking cookie' warnings?
2. Can anyone assist with the virus i have named? Will it cause problems?..or because it has been detected will the computer be ok ?

Am getting a little anxious but dont know why because the pc is fine..not slow,no pop ups etc etc.

And finally, can i now empty the virus vault.

Thanks for reading and grateful for any advice.

    1. Yes; cookies are used by most web sites to identify their users. They're not a threat to the system itself, but some people consider them an invasion of privacy.
    2. Difficult to tell - I suspect the name is just a placeholder for something AVG thinks behaves like a virus, detected using heuristics.
If they're in the Virus Vault, they've been isolated from the rest of the system and shouldn't be a cause for concern.

If youd like us to look it over ~

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
    UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

The pc does a scheduled scan every day..........

There is no need for it to scan every day! A full scan once a month is adequate for most users. Open the program and click on Help so that you can learn how to configure the program e.g. you can uncheck the box for scanning Cookies and change the frequency of the scan from daily.

Incidentally, the aforementioned utilities can also be downloaded via their respective official websites:
That way, you're sure to get the latest version. :)
