<snipped> Update on charity baskets
A while back lots of people donated fillers like flannels, puffs, jk files etc for the charity baskets I did.
The huge one was raffled so can not say how much it raised...but the rest raised a staggering £286. I only recently got an update as they did not have the sale to ages after as I made them up in advance and they stored, then with my internet off/home tel changing, plus me changing my mobile lol, they could not update me, but I finally called them as had been really busy moving.
How many baskets did you end up with?
I made a charity one for Mother's Day for our school and it raised £156 in a week and a half of selling to the kids.
I'm hoping the Cancer Research one raises at least that much, and more from the wines from the tombola. Dropping off another basket this week.0 -
i'm really wondering whther to get it off ebay for a cheaper price but risk getting a fake or get the original but pay a higher price?
can someone please tell me if they got theirs off ebay, and if it was/just as good as the original???
thanks;)
i saw something called a pedegg for ~£2 in a £1 shop by manchester piccadilly station i do not know if it is the same thing you are talking about0 -
Re the Ped-eggs, I've found that it's best to use on hard skin, and if you've got a Real Problem, don't try and grate the area continuously, or it'll become sore.
I've had mine a couple of months now, and as I mentioned a few pages back, I had to do the Initial Grate in easy stages!
Now, I just have a Baby Grate every week, as a sort of maintenance thingy. HTH

I did a humoungous hamper for the main raffle, so no idea how to work out how much that raised, but was 3rd prize, was seriously huge and weighed a ton!
Then I did 33 baskets, some large, right down to teeny weeny ones just containing a pair of gloves and olay cream etc as did alot of teeny ones as I discovered last time that they seem to raise more on the smaller ones as there is a maximum threshold of what they will spend etc
Mens ones and baby ones went the fastest i'm told, but all sold.
ETA: Lol did not just plonk handcream and hand gloves in a mini basket, I jazzed them up using florists picks from the wholesaler I bought the baskets from, as got ones like babies booties/bottles, silky glittery butterflies etc0 -

oOOOh Whats the deal with Ambre Solaire please?:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
Oh and I was told whilst I was away that a poster said I did not thank them. I thanked all the lovely people who sent things before they did, then as the items arrived. A few parcels went astray...i'm thinking postie may have thought i'd not miss one lol. I then put a post on here thanking everyone as a whole, saying I would update after the sale. The poster who said I did not thank actually pressed the thanks button to my post.
Felt I should clear that up as I also understand whilst I was away there have been various issues regarding charities etc0 -

Huge one and 33 others must have been a logistical nightmare to store and transport. You don't have photos do you :rotfl:??
It took a bit of effort to get one and the wine on the bus! I think fellow commuters thought me abit funny, rattling around and with a huge basket.
Anyway, hope everyone had a great long weekend. DD just came back from Hannah Montanna and luuuuurved it.0
