car paintwork keyed!!
a few months ago my car was keyed while i was at work. its a 3 door 2005 corsa sxi in a bright metallic green. there are a total of 4 scratches, one above the driver wheel arch, one on the driver door, one on the rear driver panel and one on the rear passenger panel, they are all quite long, one of them you can see white primer through and the others arent as deep.
does anyone know how much is this likely to de-value the car by? i was hoping to sell it and get a ford focus instead, hopefully spending less on the focus, as i need more boot space and a 5 door car as i've had a baby since i bought it 2 years ago. i have tried to be as descriptive as i can, i know its hard to say without actually seeing it though!

It will devalue it a lot, why don't you claim to have it repaired on your insurance0
-
it would be worth asking around some smaller body shops
explain you want to sell it and need a cheap spray job to get rid of the scratches and will be pating cash , you might find a good deal if somewhere is slow for work0 -
I agree with Steveo, if you are not going to claim on your insurance get the work done yourself. Ask around for a "Cash Deal" (This means to a garage that an Insurer is not involved so they charge lower prices).
If you sell the car it would be devalued a lot more than it would cost you to get the work done yourself as the buyer will take into account what it will cost to get the work done and add on the inconvenience of having it done etc0 -
if i had the spare money to get it done then i would but i really dont, and i cant source any spare money until the car is sold, these things always come at the wrong time!Mummy to

get a touch in stick from halfrods then and touch in best you can
if you are trading the car in against another one, try taking it in on rainy day and parking near a wall or something...people were always doing that kinda thing where i worked0 -
haha love it, good idea!! when i traded my old car in they didnt even look at it, i remember being quite annoyed cos i'd just cleaned it in and out and spent ages doing it too! wont make that mistake againMummy to
