Thanks for starting the thread Penny Pincher :T This week we are having:

Monday - Steak or Chicken Kiev for steak haters, wedges & salad

    Tuesday - Spaghetti Carbonara

Wednesday - Barbeque chicken & rice

    Thursday - Spaghetti Bolognese

    Friday - Pasta Bake

Saturday - Lasagne, garlic bread & salad

Sunday - Roast chicken, roast pots, stuffing, veggies & gravy

Breakfasts: Cereal, toast, yoghurts, smoothies or fruit.

Lunches (School holidays) - Soup, sandwiches, veggie dips & crudites, cheese/pate & crackers, chessy pasta, things on toast.

Snacks - Twinks, chocolate crispy bars, weetabix cake, anything from the lunch or breakfast menus.

I make everything apart from the lasagne which I buy. With the children all been off school/college I keep an eye on their consumption of 'rubbish' so make a few things myself & offer fruit etc also.

Happy cooking everyone & have a good easter weekend.

Hi, first time menu planning, OH usually cooks. He also usually gets the shopping, and for the two of us it's generally £50+ for one week! So this week I said I'd do it for £20 (actually made it £25 to meet minimum spend for online Asda shop, and so it includes desserts as well!).

Mon - Roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, carrots
    Tues - Yellowfin tuna pasta
    Wed - Spaghetti bolognese
Thurs - HM chicken and leek soup (cheated and bought some PB bread rolls to go with it)
Fri - Toad in the hole, potatoes, peas
Sat - Bacon omelettes with salad

I also have eggs to make meringues (with ice-cream and tinned fruit), apples and pears to make crumble, and possibly an apple pie. I was thinking about poached pears, but I don't have red wine, only some marsala in the cupboard. Any ideas from you lovely people what I can do with pears and marsala??

Hi & good luck with your first weeks menu plan. I find it very useful & it certainly saves money in this house. Plus the children can look at whats coming up & decide which nights they'd like to be out for tea if they don't like the offering ;)

This looks a nice recipe for your pears & marsala :D
