    sounds lovely, no one round here has them so I've only seen them on the train to Glasgow - small town girl me!:o

    Skint My town is very small and rural so most people have gardens that are big enough to grow what they want there. I love having a chat to the old grandads there, always willing to help you and give you some of their plants

    I am going to have a go at growing some peas this year, my tomatoes were lovely last year and I have some free salad seeds from lakeland.

    Just hope my back will hold out for the digging and weeding, might put them in pots instead.
    But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

    Lou did you see the link I put up for free seeds from the BBC..?

    think I am going to have to go to bed, got to go to bloody work tomorrow, DD is NOT going to be pleased I have barely seen her since wednesday :(

    I think our council have sold off just about every available inch of land for housing or retail. there's only the beach left! I think the allotments sound a lovely idea with the old guys helping the new folk out and you and DD will give them someone to chat to.

    I've got seeds...just not sure of the gardening practicalities :confused::p

    Dig a hole, put a seed in it and if something pops up then I water it:D
    But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
