DELAY on changing over to new supplier

Options
We have change our suppliers via your advice on uswitch, but we were unaware that it takes 6-8 weeks to happen. Is this normal or have i missed something somewhere? The other problem that we could come up with is that we are due to move house in hopefully 4 weeks time, are we going to have problems moving the new suppliers over or is it going to be a black hole???

  • Tell your current supplier you will be leaving your house on your moving out date. They can arrange meter readings and you should take readings for future reference.
Unless it's already been done you will then have tell suppliers to your next house of your moving in date so that they can read meters, again take readings on moving in to avoid problems later. If you're switching to a new supplier they will arrange the switching date. Make a note of the readings on this date to avoid problems later.
Moving can be as fast as 1 month but can take up to 2 or more.
