Tesco Vouchers How Much Can You Get Away With?
Hi hope I've posted this correctly (new to this!) and someone can help.
I have got into collecting CC points recently with an ambitious target of a free holiday to Florida!!
I have joined clubs, get all petrol in Tesco etc and I am also hoping to have some success using online codes for home shopping to get extra points. Surely its possible to buy expensive items to get points and then return the item for a refund as long as you careful with not to over do same CS staff. Yesterday I bought a mobile for £160 and returned it got full refund and 160 points on CC. Today I saw a fantastic offer 999 points on a stereo bought it and plan to return it later. Assuming CS don't ask for my CC am I on a winner? if I don't give my real address and don't overdo the same store?
I read on a previous message about someone getting a letter for too many manual adjustments on their CC from wombleing can Tesco possibly monitor all the CC's? How much is too much?
Hope someone can enlighten me
Many thanks

gwapenut wrote:That's an interesting point. I've often wondered how many of the clubcard deals are things you would normally pay full price for.
eg. It is relatively easy to pick up tickets to Chessington etc at half price, through soft drinks promotions or lastminute.com. So from my point of view, clubcard vouchers used for Chessington are only worth 2x face value. And presumably Tesco can negotiate much better prices than the man on the street, so it will cost them no more than 2x face value and probably much less
An MOT can often have a 25% discount if - as with the clubcard deal - you are not fussy about which garage does it. So they are only worth 3x for this.
Which brings me onto my question I always thought that it was pointless redeeming clubcard vouchers for hotel rooms, as these can often be found at 50% promotions. However, I am just assuming that you are not enttitled to use the vouchers for these discounted rooms.
Has anyone successfully used - or been refused - payment of a discounted / promoted room using clubcard vouchers?
Also, someone commented that the value in MFI may go up if Tesco is the mystery bidder. I would have thought the reverse is true as Tesco vouchers spent in their own stores are only worth 1x face value...
Saved last quarter and added them to this gave me £350 in clubcard deals, choose lovelly hotel in L ondon rang to book had tried to book on line to suss availability and there was not a problem rooms were available.
Rang clubcards deal no for hilton hotels, to be told hotel not available gave two further hotels but these were also unavailable, they offered me hotels that I did not want seems to me they will only let you use deals on hotels that they can't sell and keep others that they know they will not have a problem selling even last minute .
As vouchers had been converted to deals I had to accept hotel that I would not have been my first choice( hilton london metropole).
Should have found out more info before booking feel I 've been had also room rate much higher had to pay another £250 with vouchers for a 3 night stay0 -

No, that's not right. You only have to go ahead with the booking once your Deals vouchers have been converted to Hilton Vouchers which only happens AFTER you have made a booking. Any deal voucher starting with an S code can be used against any other deal staring with an S. Or you can send them back and get them recredited to your account.0 -
anyone else wanting to yell "STOP" at the people in front of you at the checkout that you see using their cc vouchers to pay for their shopping?

Please could I have some advice, really trying to get my head round all these tips for r&r'ing, collecting points, etc! Yes, sorry I am one of those people who always use their c/c vouchers off their shopping. Well I was until now...
So I have the following vouchers but is it worth me buying the products just to get the points?
2 x 500 points with Braun Thermoscan
25 extra points with BBC Worldwide Magazine
2 x 35 extra points with St Ivel Advance Milk
2 x 100 extra points with Photo Processing
These I would buy the normal wipes but not the kits:
2 x 100 extra points with Huggies 3 in 1 kits
So should I buy these just to boost my points or is it costing me more money for no reason?0 -

No me too. A woman in front of me used hers (nearly £20) and it was all I could do to not offer to pay for her shopping and nab the vouchers for myself:rotfl:0 -
bazz wrote:Hya. Not sure if I`ve put this on the right board. Please has anyone used clubcard deals for UK airport parking and car hire in Europe? Very tempted, as it would save a lot of money. Only thing is, didn`t want a car for a week, but its the minimum you can hire it for.

it boils down to
1) will you use the points on the deals offered?
2) will the cost of the item be more than the deal points on the item?
ie Thermoscan = 500 points = £20 in deals tokens.
Does the thermoscan cost more than £20? If so, then probably not worth it if you aren't going to use it? If it costs less than £20, then I'd buy it and flog the thermoscan on ebayWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?
