Im under the impression your on avira version 8? You should be on 9 if so

i am not using avira now as it wont let me up date

my point was if it was version 8 then you probably needed to download version 9 for it to update proper

either way ~ you need SOME sort of anti virus protection on your computer so your down to AVG, AVIRA or AVAST

how do i remove that avg completly from my pc as i am not using it no more and i cannot run that compofix as it keeps blocking it .
i am at my wits end now . I have tryed the AVG tool remover and other thing but nothing gets rid of the bleeding thing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgive me interfering as Rik is looking after you so ably as usual but have you downloaded the right AVG remover? That is, are you on 32 bit or 64 bit?
I only ask as I too have found that the remover tool does not do a complete job but this link that Rik gave on page 1 of this thread is diffetrent to the one I last used so I am having another go with a fresh download to see what happens.
