I'm moving into a room shortly for a house share - however the telephone socket that I plan to activate (LL has given permission) is openly accessible. Others have sorted their own lines out etc. Is there a way to place a spend cap on the telephoe calls being made on a number, so that I can prevent any unauthorised use? Really I'm not worried about people using it occassionally but dont want people racking up large bills phoning premium numbers or anytihng else. I have a mobile for most of my calls, just need a landline for broadband. If I place a spend cap I can limit any damage to £5/£10 which would suit me fine.

edit: sorry please delete, found BT allow barring for all calls so will just activate that instead.

I reference, it's good you found out about Call Barring because thats what i would have recommended as you can't set a cap on the call charges
If saved £2710 and only spent the interest (Based on a return of 5%), you would have enough money to pay your TV Licence every year. Saving you £7452.50 over a period of 55 years, based on you buying a license from the age of 20 until your 75 at a cost of £135.50.
