Help I've lost system restore

I have a Sony Vaio, with Vista Home edition

I'm having one or two problems.

1. Have just received a new phone, and tried to install the software using the cd which came wiht the phone, however the laptop wont run the disc.

2. I've then downloaded the pc suite software, however it's taking an age to install.

3. I've tried to uninstall, via normal and safe mode, however it won't let me.

4. I then tried to do a system restore and it tells me there are no system restore points, as it had been turned off.

I've used system restore recently (last month) but don't know why it's turned itself off.

If system restore is turned off it wont have kept any points for you to roll back to now. Turn it back on for future restore points. Have you tried an uninstaller program like cleanse uninstaller? You can get a free trial to try it at http://www.zardssoftware.com/


Might help you remove the offending software.
