So it's not actually 25000 job losses today, but "A source with knowledge of the integration process said Lloyds is planning to slash between 20,000 and 25,000 workers".Stompa0 -

so do you think it will be 20 job losses? i dont
its in the mail so has to be true
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/article-1168622/Lloyds-draws-secret-plans-cut-25-000-jobs.htmlIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

I think it's uk or mostly uk ?
If so, based on say 20 million jobs in uk it's approx 0.15 %
anyone know how many jobs there are in the uk ?0 -

What a surprise given that it's pretty much the same article written by the same person, and that thisismoney is from the publishers of the Daily Mail.Stompa0 -
..Any one who thinks things are getting better are living in denial.. things look like they are getting worse and talk of green shoots is wishful thinking....
I had a walk around my garden earlier, it was marvelous seeing all the green shoots appearing. My neighbour on one side is a short seller who thinks things are going along rather swimmingly. The neighbour on the other side is a chav who thinks it's rather cool that the benefit office is too overworked make him get a job.
I guess the moral in all this, if there is one, is you can't choose your neighbours.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

I thought Bombardier was announced last week

Beside the point really as all of the "bullish" posts have been based on facts today, unfortunately this one as not been as there as been no official announcement on the Lloyd's TSB jobs (can't be bothered to research all the others when that one was not accurate).
Given they merged with hbos there were always going to be some going but lets not pretend this all happened today.
Things seem to be area improving like it or not. The worrying thing is why some don't want things to improve.0 -
30,000 just today or 30,000 in total until now?
the Lloyds TSB is over two years and it looks like they will cover it by voluntary redundancy just like the RBS job losses. they say 20,000 to 25,000 - for dramatic effect, as expected Geoffrey chose the worst case scenario.
don't worry about Geoffrey he just looks at the headlines0 -
I've started a list to keep track of job losses in DH's sector. I've got to update it this weekend, but its sort of interesting, in a ''I've been communicating with Pastures New for a long time'' way.
