    Yes, well when we know whether it was bought execution only or via an advisor, we can reassess. But the OP is very definite about the words 'mini cash ISA'. So 3 years ago this should have been savings. Clearly it wasn't and I would be interested to hear how it all happened.

    I did feel that some of the earlier posts (by dreamypuma, even the edited version) was harsh. The OP posted for information on what to do, and I offered an option of what I would do (ie check original docs, and try to hold on to the investment till the market improves).

    I bow to your practical experience of the UK markets, of course. You seem to have had clients who have been muddled by the name. I have never practised here. I agree that the name is a triumph of branding over substance and could be misleading.

    I wouldnt be surprised if it was a MINI ISA and the OP has made the mistake of thinking that mini=cash.
