Ebay Removed My Item :0(

Hi there.
I recently listed 4 pairs of Rock & Republic Jeans on ebay - sold two of them, and then received an email from ebay today to say that my items had been removed. Here are the reasons ebay gave:
because Rock & Republic Enterprises, Inc. reported it to us for violating their
intellectual property rights. When eBay is notified by a rights owner of an
intellectual property rights infringement, eBay must remove the item in order to
meet certain legal requirements.
The following information may help explain the reason for your listing(s)
removal:
A manufacturer or intellectual property rights owner has reported to eBay that
this posting breaches their intellectual property rights in one or more more
ways. When eBay is notified by an intellectual property rights owner of a
breach of intellectual property rights, eBay removes the posting in order to
meet certain legal requirements. Please check with the rights owner if you have
any questions about their claims. Some possible issues include the following:
Using a manufacturer's photo or item description
Posting a counterfeit or "fake" item
Posting an unauthorised copy of an media (such as software or video games)
Can anyone translate this into English for me? The items were definately NOT fakes. I did use a link on the listing to a website that sold them, for information purposes only - perhaps this was the reason? Otherwise I am truly hacked off!!
Ebay say that they will "refund relevant fees" but I some how doubt this as they are useless at the best of times.
Any ideas of what I should do?
I think I will relist the item & just not use the link, perhaps this will be ok.!!??
Thanks for your help.

Many large companies are registered with the VERO programme and ebay will always suspend items from that company when there is a complaint.
It isn't necessarily that the items are thought to be fake, it is because you are not a registered outlet for them and you don't have resale rights.
If you relist you are almost certainly going to get your auctions pulled again and possibly, depending on how many other warnings already on your account, might even get suspended.

The same happened to me when I wanted to sell my Von Dutch jeans and cap. They were removed within a few hours.
I don't think that you're allowed to post links to other websites in your auction though.
From personal experience eBay are usually pretty good at refunding the fees from the items that they remove.
If you re-list your account could be suspended, so just be careful.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I would have thought it was because of the link you say you used, they might see it as using someone else's business (i.e. their site) to advertise your auction. I know you bought the jeans from a charity shop and so it is all above board but maybe its also the multiple listings of similar items that have brought you to their attention. By selling more than one perhaps you could be seen as a trader, something you don't have the rights for.
If I were you I would list one without the link and see what happens. If it goes ok then sell them one at a time to avoid them getting worried again.
To clarify, have they pulled the listings after they've sold?

How about Armani then? Ebay is flooded with 100% fake Armani gear (I know because I was stung once!).
The stuff if so bad, most of the items have 2 labels - one "made in italy" etc and the other "made in china"!
How do they get away with it?Bismillah0 -
I must admit that I have re-listed items that have been removed by eBay. I was aware that I could be suspended but took the risk. One of the items I did manage to sell but the Von Dutch items were removed again and I received another warning. I wouldn't recommend re-listing.
I guess that they must have people from 'Rock & Republic' and other designers looking at eBay auctions all the time.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I guess it just depends on whether that particular eBayer gets reported. It's a shame that genuine sellers like the OP get their auctions pulled and scammers appear to get away with it.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I've sold two pairs - sent one & will send the other pair tomorrow. Although I have received payment, all history of these listings have gone, and also the two listings that havent sold!! I can appreciate that they removed the links of the unsold items, but to remove the complete history of the ones I've sold - this isnt going to encourage the buyers that are waiting for the jeans to be sent/or the ones that have received them!!
I certainly dont want my account to be suspended, however, I also want to sell the remaining 2 pairs!!
How annoying!! Thanks for your good advice!!0 -

You are right - I guess Armani doesnt bother to chase it. I once saw a programme on TV about Mr Armani and he was asked about the number of copied stuff on the market - he said he was flattered and even mentioned an Armani shop in the far east which is nothing to do with him and sells all fakes - he seemed quite happy!
Having said that wouldnt you be if you had his money!Bismillah0 -

Exactly!! And ebay are also quick to come down on genuine people like a ton of bricks whereas the scammers just keep getting away with it.
