Council Tax - Charged after graduation date

Technically they aren't supposed to grant it between courses as it falls outside the legislation covering students but we do give it in my authority and so do most other councils if your going from one course straight to another. If you don't give the exemption then you spend more chasing the money then you get back.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

There is an argument either way if I am a continuing student or my third year is a new course. My course is validated by LMU and until two years ago we were officially LMU students. The Student Loans Company sees me as a continuing student, as I will be doing an official top-up at LMU with a discounted fees rate.
To be honest I would have been happy to pay council tax over the summer, but my certificate has allowed the full year. I will actually be completing a fair bit of work now due to illness during the course, so I suppose it has worked out for the best.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
