Hi janie,
Most pubs in the area are dog friendly so that shouldn't be too much of a problem and there are a lot to choose from. 2 of our favourites are the Copley Arms at Hessenford [on the way into Looe from the A38] and the Finney Gook at Craft Hole [going towards Whitsand Bay] - both are excellent food wise and very DF - we might even bump into you with our fox-terriers early September!!
Depends what you like as to things to do. The Eden is close [but dogs not allowed], so is Fowey and if you decide to visit Plymouth use the foot ferry from Cremyll, saves messing about with parking and gives you a good view of the river. Polperro is a must, Blue Peter on the Harbour is DF with ex food, also visit Kingsand/Cawsand on the Rame Peninsula [Cornwalls Forgotten Corner], the twin villages run into each other and there are several pubs there plus another longer foot Ferry to Plymouth.
For the dog there are some really nice walks on the coastal path and around the countryside and you can get books and maps locally. If they like the beach then Whitsand Bay has several miles for them to run on, though not at high tide. The main beach at East Looe isn't DF but West Looe is.
No experience of the site - we usually book cottages. HTH & I'm sure you and the dog will really enjoy it.0 -
wow , thanks for that epic post . loads of info there , i was looking at cottages , but there was so much choice , it confuesd me in the end , and money was a factor too,
we will have our 16yr ols with us so figured the caravan would be better with the facilites ,
