Ghost in the machine !

I have a Lexmark X3470 all in one printer/scanner etc. There is this strange behavior that occurs occasionally. The printer is NOT switched on or connected to my laptop, but the power cable is in.

Ever so often, after a few days and at a random time, there is the sound of the print cartridge moving, as though it was getting ready to print. A couple of "clunks" and that is it.

Everything is fine, but strange that the printer does this, and not sure why. It obviously is using power, yet not switched on!

I'm guessing this is built in to stop the print heads seizing up if not used for a set time, it just moves it along the bar and back maybe?
