Ipod look-a-like mp3

Hi

I recently bought an ipod look alike mp3 player and it now refuses to let me play any songs?
It was okay when I first bought it but now just says initializing on the screen when I try to goto the screen where my songs are the screen dispalys a message saying 'intializing...' but thats all it will do
Can anyone suggest a fix for this problem other than buying a proper Ipod(insufficient funds).

I assume there's some way to wipe it and set it back to the factory settings. Not knowing anything about it, it's hard to say.

A real iPod doesn't have to be expensive though; there's a 4GB iPod Nano in the Apple Refurb Store for £58 at the minute (and iPod Shuffles for £25).

Have you recently added any new songs? Maybe one of them didn't copy over properly and is what is messing it up

To be honest its my daughters and she has a load of songs on there so I wouldnt know,but I would guess that she has cos shes always adding more songs onto it

Honesty time....I washed my daughters IPOD nano and she tried to charge it straight after it had been through the wash cycle so having not a lot of money and seeing the distress that my daughter was in I,in a blind panic,bought this MP3 player for £30 quid and now its started doing this 'initializing' screen :eek:

Why not claim it on your house contents insurance? That sort of accident should be covered...

Good idea but I dont have house insurance
