EA info - Feasible?

I have found a place that I am VERY keen on :T and the EA has told me that an offer had been put on the property buy another couple and it was accepted but as they were in a chain the the vendor pulled out.
Does this sound feasible or is the EA telling a porky to get me to move quickly? I suppose in short, can the EA tell a blatant lie or are they only allwed to "bend" the truth?

What has actually happened you will probably find is that another offer has been received on the property by someone who cannot proceed, hence in a chain. More than likely the vendor has asked the EA to continue marketing the property in case a proceedable buyer comes along.
Ask the agent, but also ask the vendor when you have a follow up viewing.

Cheers Andy..
Unfortunately the vendor is never there. By the looks of things I'd say it is a couple who have split up.. i.e. One chair there.. one tooth brush.. one bed etc So I would say the vendors are keen to sell. So nto wanting to wait in a chain seems a likely story..
luckily I am not in a chain and an ideal buyer
