My son wants to cancel his satanta as he is leaving the country shortly. They told him he has to give 30 days notice of cancellation. So he phoned the other day(His billing date) and now they are saying he not only has to pay for the next 30 days but because they have to be notified before his billing date he now has to pay an extra 30 days meaning instead of 30 days cancellation they want 60. Does anybody know our consumer rights as trying to get to speak to anyone at CAB is proving very difficult.

Tell your son to read his terms and conditions, then he won't need to contact the CAB.

Based on the current T&Cs on the website, he will now have to wait 2 months AFTER the next billing date!

"(g) Unless otherwise agreed in your Option, you may end the Contract for any reason as follows:
    (1) By giving us a minimum of two month’s written notice at any time after the first ten days of this Contract. If you pay for the Service on a monthly basis, such cancellation will be effective on the date two months after your next billing date. If you pay for the Service with a longer Pre Paid Period, e.g. annually, then such notice will take effect at the end of your current Pre Paid Period if given at least two months before the end of that period."
