Amex Green - Refused A Blue !!!

I have had an Amex green charge card for a couple of months. I WAS REFUSED A BLUE.
I need to let you know before I got the green card I applied for the Blue but was refused. My credit report is excellent. I was told by Amex to wait for six months before applying for ANY of their cards. I did'nt and got the Green TWO weeks after appying for the Blue. Why refuse the Ble and give me the Green?
Since recieving the Green I have just purchased a £3500 kitchen on it without any problems. I know this is a charge card - why the refusal for a credit card?

This is VERY strange. There are more strict checks for the charge card. Not sure why you were refused for the blue, I guess if you re-apply you will get one of the credit cards straight away. In fact you should easily qualify for the platinum credit card at least.
Perhaps YB or Grumbler will give you a better explanation.0 -
Thank you, but I really don't know either. Just set up a DD to pay amex anyway.0

When you bought your kitchen for £3,500 were there any phone calls or secirity questions asked?.....I find anything over £500 results in me having to convince them I am who I am!0
