My OH is off to Memphis via Newark with Continental Airlines.
She is travelling from Edinburgh at the end of this month, she is travelling alone to visit her brother in Memphis.
Was just wondering
whether they do upgrades or if anyone had any tips for getting an upgrade. Its a sort of early 40th birthday present.

We flew with Continental to NYC for my 40th in March. As we had booked tickets via a travel agent we were unable to upgrade with Continental direct.
It would be worth a call/email to them as depending on how you booked you may be able to get upgraded0 -
Realistically on that route there is no chance of a free upgrade. There are only 16 business class seats and they do not give them away. If you want to treat her, you will have to pay.0
